VSL editing (full video + intro)
Decentralized Masters runs a crypto education program built around a standout proof point their in-house quant identifies high-potential crypto tokens ("hidden gems") with an 87% accuracy rate, with members reporting returns exceeding 100x on select picks. They needed a VSL for their low-ticket funnel that would showcase these results credibly and convert cold traffic into new members — without the video feeling like a typical crypto hype pitch.
The challenge
Crypto education is a skeptical category. Viewers have seen hundreds of VSLs promising outsized returns, and most scroll past in the first few seconds. The opening had to do the heaviest lifting in the entire video — establish credibility instantly, before the viewer's guard came up, or the rest of the VSL would never get watched.
What we made
I edited the complete VSL along with its opening intro the section that determines whether a viewer stays or leaves. Instead of leaning on hype or testimonials from unknown members, I built the hook around real interview footage of globally recognized financial figures, including Ray Dalio and Larry Fink. Hearing trusted, mainstream financial voices discuss the broader crypto and macro landscape — before the video pivots to the quant's specific track record — reframed the entire pitch. It positioned Decentralized Masters' research inside a credible, larger financial conversation rather than as an isolated crypto claim.
The pacing of the intro was built specifically to front-load this credibility before asking the viewer for any attention investment, then transition into the proof — the 87% accuracy rate and documented member returns — once trust was already established.
The results
— 42% hook rate on the intro — well above typical performance for the category
— 6.61 ROAS on the funnel this VSL was built for
— Full VSL was well received and used as the primary asset for the company's low-ticket member acquisition funnel
Why it worked
The instinct here wasn't to make a louder VSL — it was to make a more credible one. Borrowing trust from recognized financial voices before introducing the offer let the proof points land on already-earned attention, instead of trying to win attention and prove credibility in the same breath.
